Aggregate Production and Processing Procedure of Stone Crusher

Shanghai Sanme is a professional manufacturers and supplier of aggregate crushing and processing equipment. Sanme still focus on the development of new stone crusher and its jaw crusher is a typical machine. Aggregate processing equipment can crush various rocks and stones. The finished products are widely used in highway, railway, and water conservancy construction, etc. As the commonly used crushing equipment, jaw crusher has various characteristics of large crushing ratio, simple structure, reliable operation, simple maintenance, uniform grain size, etc.

Now, let's take a look at its technology program: vibrating feeder evenly sends coarse aggregate into jaw crusher through hopper, and then the jaw crusher starts to crush the materials. After that, the aggregates after the crushing are sent to vibrating screen to get qualified products which are to be sent into cone crusher for fine crushing. And the unqualified products will be sent into jaw crusher for secondary crushing.

Jaw crusher, wildly applied in mining, metallurgy, building material, highway, railway, water conservancy, chemical industry and various constructions, is not only a good helper in crushing aggregate but also efficient in crushing ore, rock, slag, etc. We hope that after being familiar with jaw crusher working principle, our customers could buy the jaw crusher with the largest utilization.

China and Japan were both rejected: Indonesia drops high-speed train plan, chooses slower option

Indonesia has dropped its plan to build a high-speed train line and is shifting instead to more economical medium-speed technology, a Cabinet minister said Friday.

Coordinating Minister of Economy Darmin Nasution said high-speed service is not suitable for the relatively short distance of 150 kilometers (93 miles) between Jakarta and Bandung, West Java’s provincial capital.

“The president’s decision is that we don’t need a high-speed railway. A medium speed of 200 to 250 kilometers per hour is enough,” Nasution said.

President Joko Widodo, who took office last October, has ambitious plans for improving Indonesia’s infrastructure which he says will boost manufacturing and create hundreds of thousands of new jobs.

Nasution said a medium-speed rail system would take only 11 minutes more than a high-speed system to make the trip, while its construction cost would be about 40 percent cheaper.

China and Japan had been competing to construct the high-speed rail system, each offering low-interest loans and other perks in an attempt to secure a multibillion-dollar contract.

Nasution said a team will create a set of conditions for construction of the medium-speed line before it is opened to international bidding.

“We will offer it again to Japan and China, and other countries that have the capability to build a medium-speed rail system also have a possibility,” he said.

State Enterprise Minister Rini Soemarno said a consortium made up of four state-owned companies – PT Wijaya Karya, PT Jasa Marga, PT Kereta Api Indonesia, and PT Perkebunan Nusantara VIII – has been set up to conduct a further feasibility study for the project.

The Jakarta-Bandung line is part of a planned 750-kilometer (466-mile) train project that would cut across four provinces on Java and end in the country’s second largest city of Surabaya. It was not immediately clear whether speed would also be reduced for the other stretches of the project.

China wins Thai railway construction bid

After many ups and downs, China has finally won the railway cooperation project with Thailand. Zhu Xijun, general manager of the Southeast Asia Company of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), said on Aug 26 that after six rounds of negotiation, both sides plan to sign the inter-governmental framework agreement on the China-Thailand Railway project in early September, and the commencement ceremony of the project is expected to be held in the end of October, Xinhua reported.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic ties and the first year of implementation of the “One Belt and One Road”initiative proposed by China. The China-Thailand Railway, which has a historical significance, has attracted tremendous attention.

According to Zhu Xijun, the project, which will be completed in 3 years, will bring actual benefits to the socioeconomic development of Thailand. After the railway puts into use, people will enjoy a much more convenient and cheaper transportation between China and Thailand. The price of a railway passenger ticket between Kunming and Bangkok will be about 3,600 Thai Baht or 700 yuan ($109.62), which is about a half or a third of an airline ticket, and the railway freight cost is only one ninth of the air freight.

The railway is estimated to add two million more Chinese tourists to Thailand every year and will provide further convenience to its agricultural product export. With this railway, Thailand will be a new transportation hub of ASEAN countries.

Wu Zhiwu, Charge d’Affaires ad Interim of Chinese Embassy in Thailand, said that the cooperation on China-Thailand Railway will be a good example of the implementation of the “One Belt and One Road” initiative. On the basis of this railway, China and Thailand can further cooperate on the construction of ports, airports and other infrastructures.

The planned China-Thailand Railway is 867 kilometers long, with an agreed operation speed of 180km/h, which is slower than the previous version of 250km/h due to cost control. The railway will connect northeast Thailand’s Nong Khai province, capital Bangkok and eastern Rayong province.

The differences Between Impact Crusher And Hummer Crusher

As a type of stone crusher , the impact crusher has its unique working principle. And its unique working principle overcomes the many defects of hammer crusher. While hammer crusher has much power, the discharging particles maybe mainly granular. In order to reduce the jam phenomenon, the impact crushing machine can effectively deal with those materials.

Impact crusher can be used to crush both of the soft material and the very large hardness material. When the rotor moves, the plate hammer which is fixed to the rotor and designed to adopt the mechanical firm structure can get more force from the rotator. Compared with the hammer crusher, the rotor of impact crusher is more suitable to crush the more hard material and saving energy.
The size of the discharging particle's adjusting range of the impact crusher is large, and it can be adjusted very simply. There are several ways to adjust the discharging particle of impact crusher, such as adjust rotor speed, impact plate and the space of grinding cavity and so on. We can adjust the size of the gap through mechanical or hydraulic way. Compared with the hammer crusher, the impact crusher have fewer wear-resistant parts and higher use ratio of metal.

The cost of maintenance of the impact crusher is low since the replacement of spare parts is very simple. There are six plates hammers those were installed on the rotor. If we need to replace a set of plate hammer, it will only costs our few minutes. On the contrary, the hammer crusher has more than 100 pair of hammers, so it will really need lots of time to replace a set of hammer. At the same time, the hammer crusher costs higher when it needs inspection and maintenance .

Working Principle Of Jaw Crusher

Applicition of Jaw Crusher is one of the most popular rock crusher in the world, Jaw Crusher is ideally suitable for primary and secondary crushing. The highest anti-pressure strength of crushed material is 320MPa. It is widely used in mining, metallurgy, construction, highway, railroad, and chemistry industries and etc. Many models are available according to your different fineness requirements.

Working Principle Of Jaw Crusher

The Crushing form of this series Jaw Crusher is driven-squeezing style. Its working principle is: Motor drives belt and belt pulley, makes moving jaw up and down through eccentric shaft. When the moving jaw is up, the angle between lining plate and moving jaw becomes large, and this will push moving jaw plate close to the fixed jaw plate. During this process, the material is crushed and ground, thus the crushing will be done. When the moving jaw is down, the angle between lining plate and moving jaw becomes small, the moving jaw plate will leave the fixed jaw plate on account of the effect of pulling bar and spring, and then the crushed material will be discharged from the lower opening of the crushing room. With the motor continuously rotating and the material periodically crushed and discharged by the crusher, the mass production can be realized.

Different Ways to Use Recycled Concrete

Construction and demolition projects can create large quantities of waste building materials, which often end up in the landfill. Much of this material can be repurposed or recycled for projects around the home and garden. Recycled concrete is one such material. It is often available free where demolition or renovation projects are underway, and some builders will deliver a quantity to your door for a modest price. For processing these rubble. Shanghai SANME, which sales cone crusher, sand maker, jaw crusher, can offer the total solution for aggregates processing. The recycled concrete has several utilities as the follows:

Paths and Walkways
Broken-up pieces of sidewalk or used concrete paving stones can be used to build new paths and walkways around your home and yard. Whenever possible, try to acquire pieces from a single demolition to build your new project; such pieces are more likely to be a uniform thickness, making them easier to handle and work with. Walkways made from separate pieces of reclaimed concrete provide numerous gaps for rain water to filter into the soil, reducing the quantity of potentially-harmful runoff from your property into storm drains.

Aggregate and Drainage
Sometimes, recycled concrete is more useful in small pieces than in large ones. Many municipalities or counties have companies that recycle old concrete into gravel-sized pieces. These can be purchased inexpensively and reused as aggregate for new poured-concrete projects. They're also a good alternative to gravel as a drainage material in wet areas. Dig a trench through the area of your yard where water most often pools, and fill it with broken-up concrete surrounding a perforated PVC drainage pipe. Cover the pipe with more concrete and replace the soil. Be sure to check local drainage regulations before undertaking such a project.

As a leading manufacturer of crusher and screen, SANME has always been acting as a guiding role in the field of crusher and screen based on its vigorous research ability and modernized craft.

Performance and Advantages of Sanme Jaw Crusher

Economic development cannot go without the exploration of minerals and economic development needs the support of energy, so here comes a question: what kind of mining machinery has the highest cost performance for mineral exploitation? Shanghai Sanme is engaged in the research and manufacture of jaw crushers and other types of crushers, and after concluding the manufacturing concept of jaw crusher, our company has successfully researched and developed hammer crusher, impact crusher, and welcome customers to come to our company for purchasing jaw breakers. Here Shanghai Sanme will give a detailed introduction to the performance and advantages of jaw crusher.

The working manner of this series crushing machine is dynamic extrusion type, and its working principle goes like this: the electro motor drives the belt and belt wheel to make the movable jaw to move up and down through the eccentric shaft, and then movable jaw goes up, the angle between the toggle pate and the movable jaw is bigger, thus pushing the movable jaw to get close to the fixed jaw, and at the same time, the materials are crushed or smashed, thus reaching the goal of crushing; when the movable jaw goes down, the angle between the toggle pate and the movable jaw is smaller, under the effect of the draw bar and the spring, the movable jaw moves always from the fixed jaw, and then the crushed materials will be discharged out from the lower mouth of the crushing chamber. With the continuous rotation of the electro motor, the movable jaw of the crusher will do periodic motion to crush and discharge the materials, thus realizing mass production.

The performance advantages of jaw crushers lie in: the crushing chamber is deep and without dead zone, thus improving the feeding capacity and output. The crushing ratio is big and the product granularity is even. Previous downtown after the erosion of time, a large number of mountains of ruins is unsightly. The past, people deal with construction waste are transported to the outskirts of landfills or open dumps to be a real "junk". With the development of science and technology, the use of new technologies means was discarded garbage recycling, made to be able to reuse building materials.

Construction waste resource utilization of the development of circular economy will be helpful. The main components of the construction waste: soil, sediment, waste steel, waste wire and all kinds of scrap parts, metal pipelines waste, waste bamboo, wood chips, wood shavings, a variety of decorative materials boxes, packaging bags, scattered mortar and concrete, broken bricks and broken concrete blocks scattered in the process of moving sand, gravel and stone. The new building of the new market waste disposal equipment - mobile crushing plant is gradually revealed in the construction waste disposal market. China sees more exports, investment along Belt and Road

China’s exports and investment along the Belt and Road, a China-proposed trade and infrastructure network, increased steadily in the first five months of 2015 as the country strengthened economic ties with the region.

Exports to the Belt and Road nations rose 2 percent year on year to 244 billion U.S. dollars in Jan.-May, Ministry of Commerce (MOC) spokesperson Shen Danyang told a press conference on Tuesday.

That growth outpaced China’s overall export increase of 0.8 percent in the same period.

However, a 23.2 percent drop in imports from the Belt and Road nations brought China’s total bilateral trade with those countries down 9.5 percent year on year to 398.4 billion U.S. dollars, according to MOC figures.

In Jan.-May, Chinese enterprises invested 4.86 billion U.S. dollars in 48 nations and regions along the Belt and Road, up 3.7 percent year on year, Shen told reporters. Major destinations included Singapore, Indonesia, Laos and Russia.

The Belt and Road initiative refers to the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road and was proposed in 2013 with the goal of reviving ancient trade routes between Asia and Europe. The network passes through more than 60 countries and regions, with a total population of 4.4 billion.

Those areas accounted for more than a quarter of China’s total exports and about a fifth of its outbound direct investment in the first five months of 2015, according to the MOC.

Sri Lanka in talks with China over highway projects

The Sri Lankan government on Saturday said that it is in talks with China to extend a highway linking the capital and the deep south.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the government is having talks with China to fund the project connecting Colombo and Hambantota in the south.

The highway which already connects Colombo to the southern town of Galle and Colombo to the southern town of Matara was to be extended to Hambantota as part of the project plan of the former government.

However the new government which took office in January this year had decided to review some of the Chinese funded projects following allegations of corruption and lack of transparency when the deals were originally signed.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe however said that the highway projects will continue, with proper procedures being followed.

He also said that talks will be held with a Chinese company to go ahead with the third stage of another highway project known as the ‘Outer Circular Highway’ project.

Once completed, the Outer Circular Highway will interconnect the major highways in Sri Lanka.

The prime minister said that the government has also decided to commence work on a highway connecting Colombo and the central town of Kandy and the first stage will be constructed with funding from Japan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The prime minister also rejected allegations that the new government is taking political revenge on the former government by launching investigations into some of the projects.

He said that the investigations are purely to expose corruption in some of the deals and not take political revenge.

The Effective Energy-Efficient Road of Rock Crusher

Along with the increasing market demands, the competition of product becomes bigger and bigger. Every crusher manufacturer can only survive by innovation. So no matter absorb abroad advanced technology or innovate according to own experience, crusher enterprise can walk longer only by digging a fresh new road.

Along with the development of China’s mining industry and capital construction, the industry’s general strength magnifies constantly. Only by enhancing the productivity then we can create higher profits. Therefore, high efficiency is the important and significant element of further stone crusher. But what’s more important is energy conservation and environmental protection part. The national policy stresses the importance of energy conservation and environmental protection unceasingly. In the meanwhile, the people and the public shout loudly to protect the environments as well to guarantee the people’s living quality.

The things of obeying the people’s willingness will go smoothly. Energy conservation and environmental protection have always been the fundament in our mind. But looking from the development of industry in recent decades, our country is far behind of other countries in the energy conservation and environmental protection part. The frequently reported haze weather recently pushes the topic of environmental protection in the front. Therefore, every enterprise can not challenge the low personally. They develop the rock crusher industry like a raging fire for the rapid development of each industrial field, such as infrastructure, chemical industry, highway and mine etc, the crusher all plays an important role. For example, jaw crusher is the core equipment of first level crushing of ores. The cone crusher and hammer crusher are widely applied to secondary level crushing etc.

Cone crusher is used in the pebble hard rock ore crushing process

In all kinds of metal and nonmetal mineral, chemical raw materials and construction materials processing process, crushing operation consumes vast amounts of energy, and is an inefficient operations. Broken in the process, due to the operation of sound, heat, vibration and so on, make a lot of energy consumption. And the personage inside course of study for many years, from theoretical research to innovation equipment (including the reconstruction of old equipment), until change the production process, has been studying how to achieve energy saving, how to effectively complete fracture process. So if you want to transform a particular device, it must be the key of the crusher equipment have a full understanding.

Quarry, sand factory, metal mines and mining are used cone crusher and common ore crushing equipment such as jaw crusher, choose what kind of crusher is the most appropriate, the most economical, it must be according to the physical and chemical characteristics of ore and the position and characteristics of work place and other factors. With jaw crusher, cone crusher is suitable for crushing large rocks hardness, such as iron ore, cobble, cobble, jaw crusher is mainly used for primary crushing, large materials in the cone crusher is mainly used for broken. Cone crusher with high performance, high wear resistance, low maintenance costs, has become the main hard rock crushing equipment today.

Sanme cone crusher design with novel design principles, adopting the new concept of crushing technology, can satisfy the different material specifications of the broken, fully meet the needs of new technology of more crushing less grinding requirements. This machine not only broken than big, products fine granularity and uniformity, and the unit power consumption is low, the machine broken material humidity requirements are not too big requirements, also suitable for any hard brittle materials, can be used for a variety of minerals and broken, and the machine unique design, make the machine maintenance cost and maintenance cost greatly reduced, so that the machine production efficiency greatly improved, also has a significantly lower production cost. The machine the machine has been proved by large engineering good application prospect in the field of mineral processing.

“Building energy efficiency stimulates economic activity” write UK businesses

An open letter published in The Daily Telegraph indicates many large businesses want to see the UK government’s long-term economic plan include steps to ensure building energy efficiency. The Conservative Party Manifesto pledged the Conservative government would ‘cut emissions as cost-effectively as possible’ to meet the UK’s climate change targets.

The letter, signed by 55 business leaders, argues that the construction sector offers ways to reduce carbon emissions and provide major economic growth, whilst contributing to ongoing deficit reduction and economic recovery. Organisations such as BAM Construct, Barratt Developments, E.ON, Saint-Gobain and Whitbread are among the signatories.

In the letter, the leaders write: “Building energy efficiency stimulates economic activity, strengthens our international competitiveness and creates thousands of jobs across the UK, mostly with small local businesses. It lowers costs for businesses and householders, and reduces the burden on the NHS. And as a more cost effective means of meeting demand than building new generating capacity, it is also crucial in safeguarding our energy security.”

They outline four long-term policies:
1、Recognise energy efficiency as a national infrastructure priority and allocate infrastructure funds to catalyse a national retrofit programme.
2、Deliver on the commitment for all new homes and all new non-domestic buildings to be zero carbon from 2016 and 2019 respectively.
3、Ensure that Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards for the private rented sector from 2018 are effectively enforced.
4、Outline how the government intends to meet the third and fourth carbon budgets, and introduce an ambitious fifth carbon budget.

Julie Hirigoyen, Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council, which coordinated the letter, said: “Business leaders already recognise the importance of bold energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets – not simply because they’re the right thing to do, but because they generate real commercial value for their businesses. The new government has a golden opportunity to put cost effective carbon reductions from buildings at the heart of its economic plan. Ambitious, long-term policies would drive major economic growth and job creation, reduce energy bills for homes and businesses, and strengthen the UK’s energy security. This is a win-win-win for people, the environment and the economy.”

“Made in China 2025″ plan unveiled to boost manufacturing

China’s State Council has unveiled a ten-year national plan, Made in China 2025, designed to transform China from a manufacturing giant into a world manufacturing power.

The plan, endorsed by Premier Li Keqiang, is the country’s first action plan focusing on promoting manufacturing, a notice said on Tuesday.

The plan will be followed by another two plans in order to transform China into a leading manufacturing power by the year 2049, which marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Nine tasks have been identified as priorities: improving manufacturing innovation, integrating technology and industry, strengthening the industrial base, fostering Chinese brands, enforcing green manufacturing, promoting breakthroughs in 10 key sectors, advancing restructuring of the manufacturing sector, promoting service-oriented manufacturing and manufacturing-related service industries, and internationalizing manufacturing.

The 10 key sectors are new information technology, numerical control tools and robotics, aerospace equipment, ocean engineering equipment and high-tech ships, railway equipment, energy saving and new energy vehicles, power equipment, new materials, medicine and medical devices, and agricultural machinery.

To fulfill the tasks, “Made in China 2025″ will focus on five major projects, including establishing a manufacturing innovation center and boosting intelligent manufacturing, said the notice.

To shore up the plan, China will introduce a slew of policies to deepen institutional reforms and strengthen financial support.

The implementation of the “Made in China 2025″ plan will be market-oriented, though guided by the government, according to the notice.

Commenting on the event, Miao Wei, minister of industry and information technology (MITT), said the realization of the plan means “by 2025 … China will basically realize industrialization nearly equal to the manufacturing abilities of Germany and Japan at their early stages of industrialization.”

“There are many criteria to judge whether a country is a manufacturing power or not, including industrial scale, optimized industrial structure, sound quality and efficiency and sustainable development, but the key lies in innovation,” according to Li Beiguang, deputy head of MIIT planning division.

To promote manufacturing and national competitiveness, it is important to mobilize every conceivable element to stimulate innovation rather than simply support a single industry, said Li.

“China is being pressured from both sides,” an MIIT official who preferred to remain anonymous told Xinhua earlier this month. “Advanced economies such as the United States, Germany and Japan have all formulated policies supporting further development of their own manufacturing. At the same time, emerging economies such as India and Brazil are also catching up with their own advantages.”

Chinese manufacturing accounts for about 20 percent of the world’s total, but it is “far from strong,” according to Li Beiguang.

“Made in China 2025″ emerged as Chinese factories still struggle with decreasing demand, increasing competition from international competitors and slower economic growth.

The plan will span the whole manufacturing industry, applying advanced ideas not only from Germany and Japan, but also from the United States and Britain, among others, said officials.

Of all the projects included in the “Made in China 2025″ plan, intelligent manufacturing is crucial, according to Miao, adding that the MIIT is taking part in a three-year study on the topic.

Proposed in this year’s government work report, the “Made in China 2025″ blueprint was drafted by four ministries, including the MIIT, and submitted to the State Council weeks earlier.

UK: CPA questions ONS construction output estimates

The UK’s Office of National Statistics (ONS) has released its statistical bulletin on construction output for 1Q15 and March 2015. In the January – March 2015 quarter, the ONS estimates that construction output contracted by 1.1% q/q and by 0.3% y/y. This would make it the first quarter to experience a y/y fall in construction output since 2Q13.

In April, the ONS forecast a 1.6% q/q drop in construction output in 1Q15. The estimate has been revised up to -1.1%, based on updated survey responses.

According to the ONS, new work declined by 1.7% q/q in the first quarter of this year, with decreases also reported for total housing (-3,4%), other new work (-6.6%), and private commercial work (-3%). Repair and maintenance is estimated to have dropped by 0.2% compared to 4Q14.

In March 2015, the ONS estimates that output was 1.6% higher than in March 2014 and 3.9% higher than in February 2015.

Commenting on the estimated 1Q15 decline in construction output, Stirling Ackroyd’s Andrew Bridges said: “New homes progress has been sluggish for decades, but the latest figures show this activity actually falling. Radical measures need to be put in place to support builders. […] This impasse isn’t just limited to housing either. Infrastructure matters too – and schemes like Crossrail demonstrate how this can pay for itself with the wider benefits and increased tax take. Britain’s cities are concentrated hubs of opportunity, but they need offices, homes, schools, roads and railways. Construction isn’t some kind of aside to the main show of economic growth – it is the primary limit and the main driver of progress.”

ONS figures contested by industry

The Construction Products Association (CPA) has questioned the figures released by ONS, releasing the following statement:

‘The Office of National Statistics (ONS) today reported falls in construction output for 4Q of 2014 and 1Q of 2015, suggesting that the construction industry has technically entered recession.

The Construction Products Association points out, however, that the official data contradicts a growing body of recent evidence from itself and other industry sources. Several independent organisations, including Experian and Markit /CIPS, have similarly reported growth in construction activity. These findings were reinforced this week by the Bank of England, which published its latest Inflation Report highlighting concerns with the comparative figures.

The Construction Products Association originally wrote to the ONS to raise this issue following the release, in April, of the original 4Q estimate. The CPA and ONS met in early May, and are currently working together to address this matter.’

According to the CPA’s 1Q15 State of Trade Survey, 50% of building contractors, on balance, reported a rise in construction output compared to 1Q14. Furthermore, 54% of building contractors noted an increase in private housing output and 23%, on balance, reported y/y growth in private commercial output.

Commenting on the State of Trade Survey, Dr Diana Montgomery, CPA Chief Executive, said: “Surveys from the CPA, wider industry and independent sources indicate that the UK construction recovery appears set to continue through 2015. Despite rising costs and general election uncertainties, enquiries and orders are clearly translating into activity on the ground and contributing to steady and consistent growth.”

How to deal with the dust of impact crusher?

Impact crusher is a kind of crushing equipment by the use of impact energy to crush materials in the crushing cavity. During the crushing process, it is inevitable to produce some of dust. The dust will reduces the working efficiency of the impact crusher.

As a professional crusher production enterprises, Shanghai Sanme has rich experience of dealing with crusher problems. HereShanghai Sanme share the methods to deal with the dust of impact crusher, in order to increase the service life of impact crusher.

First, in order to reduce environmental pollution, in the crushing production, we can add the right amount of water on the raw material, which can significantly reduce the dust. In addition, it is necessary to install a humidifier of dust , which can ensure the normal order of the crusher and improve the work efficiency of the crusher.

Besides, the component failure of the impact crusher not only affects normal dust, but also increase the workload of thee equipment maintenance. It needs to pay attention to the crusher maintenance to prolong its service life and reduce the dust.

PPC calls for greater innovation in Africa

Alta Walker, PPC’s Head: Innovation, says that Africa’s concrete industry has huge potential, but innovation is needed to realise it.

“Africa is growing and her people are urbanising rapidly—as a result, she is constructing infrastructure at a huge rate,” says Walker. “But an opportunity of this scale also represents a massive challenge for us as an industry: we will need to think creatively about new ways of manufacturing, designing and financing our projects if we are to succeed.”

Though Africa’s potential as a continent is vast, Walker cautions that African markets are extremely diverse, and solutions will need to be tailored accordingly. Overall, a shortage of engineering and technical skills means that traditional construction methods and design practices will have to be rethought to meet the demand for housing in particular.

In addition, says Walker, meeting Africa’s needs will require innovation across the entire construction life cycle. Fundamental rethinking of this nature will be required to overcome a range of challenges, which include affordability, environmental sustainability and long implementation time frames. Africa can also benefit tremendously by adapting global solutions to local conditions.

Using innovative materials is only part of the solution, Walker emphasises. While manufacturers will have to look at ways of producing products like cement more sustainably, traditional design approaches will also need rethinking. For instance, the construction phase of any building accounts for around 15% of its total energy footprint, while 85% is produced during the life of the building. By designing for energy efficiency, however, the 15% contributed by construction can be more than offset by savings during the building’s useful life.

One of the biggest barriers to innovation is the difficulty of obtaining customer buy-in. “Changing customer perceptions will demand innovative marketing approaches,” she says. “The whole value chain will have to collaborate in innovating if we are to realise the opportunity and realise the benefits.”

UK: Construction growth rate of new work slows in April 2015

The Markit/CIPS UK Construction Purchasing Managers’ Index® (PMI®) fell from 57.8 in March 2015 to 54.2 in April 2015. Although this is above the 50.0 no-change value, it is the lowest index figure for two years and represents two consecutive months of decline.

Of the three sub-sectors, civil engineering experienced a decline in activity for the first time in four months, while commercial construction growth was the least marked since August 2013. Residential construction performed the best. However, the rate of growth in residential construction in April was the lowest in 22 months.

The pace of new business growth also slowed. Some survey respondents partially attributed this to uncertainty surrounding tomorrow’s general election, although others said that underlying conditions remained favourable.

The rate of job creation was lower than the 2014 average, but growth ‘remained robust’. Sub-contractor availability continued to contract, contributing to an increase in sub-contractor charges.

“The general election has given the sector pause for thought as procurement and supply management professionals reported a slowdown in the pace of new construction orders growth. Though the index still remains in positive terrain, this deceleration has been attributed to project delays and hesitancy as the country prepares to vote,” commented David Noble, Group Chief Executive Officer at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).

“Sub-contractors continue to be the winners in ongoing work, being in short supply and demanding higher rates for their labour – rising at the swiftest pace for almost 20 years. However, the sector continued to gear up and increase in-house staffing levels to meet the needs of higher levels of investment and to increase capacity and capability levels in supply chains. With this slack in new pipeline orders, suppliers were able to improve their performance as well as increase levels of stock to lighten any log jam in the supply of raw materials.”

“Though new business growth in the sector has slowed for eight months out of the last ten, business optimism is only slightly bruised and remains more solid than the average over the life of the index,” concluded Noble.

The Birth of the World's First Cone Crusher

Cone crusher is most commonly used in sand production line. We have talked a lot about cone crusher, like high crushing strength, efficiency, capacity, low operating cost, easy adjustment and economic. It is widely used in metallurgical, building materials, road building, chemical and silicate industry. Today, we'll talk about the birth of first cone crusher in the world. The world's first patented cone crusher published in 1878, and products came out until 1898. Spring cone crusher is designed by Milwaukee Simmons brothers, as its name suggested. With a hundred years of history, it develops by gradual improvement, but no significant change in the basic structure. On the imitation of the Soviet Union 2100 and 1650 spring cone crusher in 1954, China produces 1200 spring cone crusher.

In 1958, it manufactured giant 2200 spring cone crusher. After years of tough research and practice, it overcomes the deficiencies of the old ones in spring pressure, low intensity of the part. Mass production specifications spring cone crusher is 600,900,1200,1750,2200 with 14 kinds of cavities. It has a hydraulic system to adjust the discharge hole, which effectively ensures the safe operation of the cone crusher. When something cannot be broken in the crushing chamber, the hydraulic system adjusts the dynamic cone until it is discharged, and then the movable cone back to normal.

Crushing chamber refers to the space between the movable cone and fixed cone. Shape of it great influences a lot on the overall performance. Crusher cavity is main technical indicators of cone crusher. Labyrinth seals replace the water seal in the past, so that dust can not enter the inner machine, thus ensuring clean of lubrication oil, extending the life of slide bearings and thrust ball bearing. It is convenient for new structure cone crusher replacing the broken wall. Selected high voltage displacement transducers allow discharge port position adjustment in the operating room. As long as a button, it displays on the operating table, very convenient and accurate to operate.

The cone crusher is suitable for third or fourth crushing in mining and civil engineering, medium or higher hardness ores and rocks used in building material or non-metallic area, especially areas inadequate in supply of natural sand.

Impact Crusher Has Become One of the Most Extensive Resources

In the era of low-carbon economy, to protect the environment while developing the economy is the obligatory duty for every enterprise. Thus the R&D of energy-saving and environmental protection products has become the focus for the long-term stable development of each enterprise. Energy conservation, low-carbon, environmental protection are the key to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises. Impact crusher has become the model of being green and energy-saving in the crushing equipment industry. According to relevant materials that the production of impact crusher is rising continuously, its processing materials mainly are hard ore materials, such as limestone, iron ore and other mineral materials. Therefore, it is also one of the most widely used devices in mining machinery industry.

The application of impact crushers have greatly fill the market vacancies of crushers. Compared with other crushing equipment, it has obvious advantages. Its particle size are uniform, and the particle shape is good, therefore it’s very suitable to provide materials for large construction projects. In the course of processing materials, the motor rotor mounted in the crushing chamber rotated at a high speed. It impacts the materials into the crushing chamber with a fast speed. The material under the action of a strong centrifugal force, generates forceful contacts with the panel of the cavity body. Then the materials will be rebounded to a high-speed rotating rotor again. After repeatedly breaking like this, qualified materials are discharged from the discharge port.

In order to meet the actual needs better, and keep pace with the market, our company continue to upgrade technology, improve our R&D innovations, and finally achieves larger development of crushers. These equipment has obvious advantages compared with equipment of other companies’, and they have become the most widely used devices.

A new low-carbon solution for the construction sector is commercialised

Solidia Technologies, USA, and Larfarge, France, have signed an agreement to commercialise a new technology, after Solidia developed a new binder which through a different chemical reaction and at lower temperature, will generate less CO2.

It will enable a significant reduction in the environmental foot-print of precast concrete by up to 70%. It will allow lower CO2 emissions in the cement production process and use CO2 in the manufacturing of precast concrete so the Solidia Cement™ hardens through the addition and absorption of CO2.

Commercial launch will begin in markets in North America and in Europe for the manufacturing of concrete elements such as paving stones, roof tiles and concrete blocks.

Under the terms of this agreement, Lafarge will have the right to commercialise this technology worldwide. In partnership with Solidia, Lafarge will offer a complete solution (sustainable cement and CO2-cured concrete).

Australia: Construction output to decline by an annual average of 3.5%

According to Timetric’s Construction Intelligence Centre (CIC), construction output in Australia is forecast to decline by an annual average of 3.5% over the next five years. This compares to a 5.6% annual increase in real terms over the last five-year period. Timetric’s CIC expects the country’s construction output to reach a nominal value of US$170.2 billion in 2019, down on the US$191.3 billion recorded in 2014.

The forecast contraction has been attributed to a number of factors, including: slowdown in the mining industry; less investment in the energy industry; ambiguity relating to renewable energy targets.

Although the government has announced investments in transport infrastructure, this is not expected to have a major impact on construction sector output.

On a more positive note, residential construction activity is forecast to help boost output in 2015 – 2019. Last year for example, the number of dwelling units increased by 11.9% y/y.

“Residential construction is anticipated to be the main driver of growth over the forecast period as low interest rates, migration to urban regions and the rising population are expected to drive the market’s expansion up to 2019,” explained Sina Zavertha, Economist at Timetric’s CIC.
